I had used two cattle software programs before I met
Harold Bowman in 1992. One program was developed at a University and we never could
generate a practical report and there was no technical support. The other program took 45
minutes to input data in one animals file. I continued to search for a practical user
friendly program that ranchers can depend upon and enjoy using. Finally, I located Bowman
Farm Systems booth at a cattle convention and asked for a demonstration of their cattle
software program. The cattle data was comprehensive, organized, and easy to read. The
reports that were generated were practical, and the program was very easy to maintain. A
few days after I purchased the CattlePro program, Harold Bowman called to see if we had
the program installed and operating. He assisted us in the installation and provided us
with as much technical support as we needed to operate the program. I then learned he is a
purebred breeder and began to understand why his program was user friendly for the
rancher.
